Our main facility is located at 20078 I. W. I. P. Road in Smithfield, VA 23430, and we have a Miscellaneous Fabrication and Structural Steel Fabrication shop in Newport News, VA. Southern Structural Steel, inc. is a full-service steel provider which furnishes and installs all structural steel, joist and decking, and miscellaneous stairs and railings with very competitive pricing and fast delivery.We have the capability to receive all drawings for your project – contract or shop drawings – and provide Approval drawings electronically for quicker turnarounds and faster steel delivery. Once drawings are approved, fabrication can begin in our state-of-the-art production facility.
Southern Structural Steel, inc. also has a Steel Sales Warehouse and Rebar Fabrication division at our Newport News location.

Runner Services
We have the capability to receive all drawings for your project – contract or shop drawings – and provide Approval drawings electronically for quicker turnarounds and faster steel delivery. Once drawings are approved, fabrication can begin in our state-of-the-art production facility.
General Contractors please note that we also have a runner who works daily AT NO CHARGE TO YOU to drop off/pick up drawings for Approval, Approved as Noted, as well as for job quotes. This option is more convenient than mailing drawings when sending them electronically is not an option. Our runner goes from South Side (Virginia Beach/Chesapeake) all the way to Richmond to expedite delivery of these drawings and allow for quicker turnarounds.
Call either an estimator or project manager when you have something ready for pickup, and we can have the runner there either that day or the next, depending on work load. Our runner also makes urgent deliveries, such as anchor bolts for a concrete pour, or anything else that a jobsite absolutely has to have ASAP.
